Marsden Yacht Club was founded in 1974. It originally sailed at Marsden Point. The club grew, and Whangarei District Council land was secured by lease and the Clubrooms at One Tree Point were opened in 1992. The clubrooms were predominantly built with voluntary labour provided by Club members. The
